My grandmother, Lillian Alice Burns, daughter of Horace Webb Townshend, was NOT married to the Anthony Burns person here stated as an American escaped slave. She married Robert Anthony Burns, an Irishman from Belfast in 1920. They lived in Africa, where I still live, and Lillian, my grandmother, died in Africa in 1964. She has four grandsons and I am her only granddaughter.

I don’t know how this ridiculous information was obtained about my grandmother’s husband. Lillian Alice Burns (nee Townshend), my grandmother, married ROBERT ANTHONY BURNS IN 1920 and I have their marriage certificate and Robert’s birth certificate. He was an Irishman from Belfast and NOT an American escaped slave called Anthony Burns. They lived in Africa, where I am, and they both died in Africa. My grandmother, Lillian Alice Burns (nee Townshend) died in 1964. Please rectify this. I can be contacted via my e-mail for confirmation.
